Record Arctic Charr (blueback) caught by 11 year old in Maine

A 35 year record for Actic Charr (blueback trout) was broken by Carter McLaughlin, 11, of Mapleton, Maine. He caught the charr in Pushineer Pond in T15 R9, one of Maine’s 12 native charr waters. The record fish was caught on Aug. 20 and was 25.4 inches long and weighed nearly 5 1/4 pounds.
