Ferry Beach State Park is a recreational gem in the Saco area. It is a well maintained state park with wide, flat, groomed trails through oak and pine forest and a tupelo swamp, around a pond and with access to the beach.
For beach visitors, there is an enclosed changing area with pit toilets and an outdoor shower area. The beach is wide and sandy, stretching from the Saco River to the Goosefare Brook (only a small portion is part of the state park).
For picnickers, there is a small field surrounded by picnic tables and a group pavilion.
The trails are great for easy trail walking, or biking and are also good for winter sports like snowshoeing.
