Description
At the South end of the turnout you will find the path. You will walk among Rock Cave some very large boulders that mark the area known as Smuggler’s Cave. This area is rumored to have been a stash for contraband during the War of 1812. It can be fun to wander around the rocks and explore through the notch. You can spend your day here or use it as starting point to join the Long Trail and wonder to Sterling Pond or beyond.

Once through you will see the white signs for the Long Trail. Cross the road uphill from the turnout.
